I.E. Counseling
"It is never too late to become what you might have been." - George Elliot
It is our goal to provide a welcoming and caring environment where you can feel comfortable to express your concerns, difficulties, or fears. Privacy and confidentiality are of utmost priority; our relationship must be built on mutual trust. Our approach is goal-oriented and outcome-focused. We view the "whole" person, their environment, support systems, and preferences when formulating goals. We approach the counseling relationship as an active participant. We teach, listen and facilitate problem solving by providing you with the tools needed to improve your current situation. Clients will very often leave a counseling session with "homework assignments." It is important that you be able to apply what you learn in sessions to your everyday lives. With the right tools you can change anything.
When working with children we feel it is important to involve the parents in the psycho-educational process. Children's behaviors are often in direct response to their environment. Therefore, we offer to do site visits at the home and/or school. We believe in a team approach - everyone must be on the same page if we are going to change behaviors.
Each of us faces many different problems as we walk through life. Sometimes our problems can become overwhelming and debilitating. When they are more then we can handle they begin to affect our happiness, relationships and very often our health. When this occurs, we need help and guidance to resolve them. Our intention is to help you find your solutions.
